Our bifold designer has launched on our site! We’ve tweaked and toned the bifold options and trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
How to use the aluminium Bifold Designer a step-by-step guide.
Step 1 Requires the height and width of the allocated space, make sure this measurement is in mm. The minimum width is 1100mm – maximum width 7000mm; Height range is from 1890mm to 2400mm.
Step 2 Choose how many panels and the configuration, for example if you have an opening of 3000mm you can choose up to 5 panels. These can be split and opened from the middle as 4 panels (2 on either side). Open as 3 panels and fold back against one wall. This will all depend on the space inside and outside of the located area.
Step 3 Choosing the direction of the fold either outwards or inwards. If you have chosen to maximise the space internally then perhaps a 5-panel opening outward door would suit the space. If you have the space internally then a 3-panel folding door will suit. This will need to be planned out as the space the doors occupy when folded needs to be considered.
Step 4 Select the slide direction whether it’s left or right. Don’t forget this opening is always viewed from the outside so make sure you have considered what is to the left and right of the internal and external space.
Steps 5 and 6 Involve selecting the all-important external and internal colours. We have all the standard colours anthracite grey, black and white but you can also choose your own personal RAL colour to suit your home.
Step 7 Choose the type of glass whether you choose safety or solar glass either one are double glazed units made from low E-toughened safety glass. The spacer bar is automatically selected as black by default to suit all colours.
Step 8 Options to choose whether you want to have integral blinds within the glazing unit. They are available in natural white, silver, 7016 grey and black. If you have a west or south facing property you might want to choose this type of blind to keep the inside cool in the summer.
Step 9 The final step is to select the handle colour, by default chrome is selected. Please make sure you change the option if you want to select white, black or grey (7016). This is also where the hinge colour is chosen, please ensure you have selected the correct colour.
Step 10 Offers further options to choose the threshold – standard or low (non-weathered). Adding in trickle vents to improve ventilation in the space. Options to add a cill and further addons.
Once you have made your selections through the series of steps your bifold is added to the basket. Once here you can either go back and edit your bifold or proceed to payment.
